King farmer takes farmland protection message to the Senate

A member of the King Environmental Action Team (KEAT) recently shared a video with me of King resident and farmer Dean Orr appearing before the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry as part of its study on food security in Canada.

After watching Dean’s testimony, I met with him to learn more about his farm, his research and the work he is doing on farmland protection, land use planning and food security. I was delighted that the King Sentinel gave me the opportunity to share more about Dean and these important issues in last week’s edition.
